Addicta: The Turkish Journal on Addictions is an international scientific journal for the publication of research and studies covering all aspects of addiction and addiction-related disorders. The journal’s aim is to facilitate both international and interdisciplinary scientific and clinical communication, to strengthen the links between scientific research and management policy in Turkey, and to stimulate and enhance the quality of debate. Representing an interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of recent data and expert opinions, it reflects the importance of a comprehensive approach to resolve the problems of substance abuse and addiction in Turkey.

Addicta publishes peer-reviewed research reports on addictions, bringing together research conducted within a variety of disciplines. Articles include theoretical, philosophical and political essays; research papers; research on addictive behaviors which include evidence-based clinical practice, clinical, epidemiological, experimental, and case reports; and historical research relating to any substance or activity with the potential to be abused or relating to any aspect of addiction. In addition to original research, the journal features both article and book reviews. Studies that clearly contribute to the current knowledge of addiction and drug abuse, its prevention, social policy, and/or treatment are given priority. Scholarly commentaries on topical issues and systematic reviews are also encouraged.

Addicta is the official peer-reviewed, international journal of the Turkish Green Crescent Society. Founded with the goal to struggle against all hazardous habits such as gambling, sexual addiction, internet and technology addiction, all of which exert a negative influence on Turkey’s youth, The Green Crescent Society works to combat against both dangerous addictions and such habits which may act to endanger the physical and mental health of youths.
